Dear All,

My users are complaining about the time use on our network,
I am using windows 2000 server active directory, my old admin has configured
time should sync from tim.windows.com.....

Now I want to change it, I want my root domain controller should act as time
serve, and give time to others I need help for to enable NTP service on my
root domain controller.

Thanx in advance

Go to your "root domain controller", (I'm going to assume this is your "PDC
Emulator", as it should be) open a command line window and type:

net time /setsntp:

This will prevent your "root domain controller" from getting any external
sync.

Go to each client machine and type:

net time /setsntp:

This will enable the default operation of each client to automatically synch
to your domain controller.

Note: you might want to have your domain controller sync to an external
source. If so...
Go to your domain controller and type:

net time /setsntp:time.windows.com

This will cause your domain controller to obtain external time sync.
