ntldr missing

I used to Partion magic to create a linux partition on my XP desktop. The
install of a linux distro onto the linux partition failed. When I restarted
my computer I couldn't boot into XP. I now get the ntldr missing message.
I've tried using the recovery console to fix the boot and mbr but it doesn't
work. The recovery console asks whether I want to connect to G:\Windows. But
XP is was installed on C:, G: was a data partition. It looks like all my
partitions have had their drive letter changed. My old G: drive is now C:.
Futhermore, the drive on which it says windows is installed (G:) is set to
inactive.

How do i boot into windows?

Thanks in advance,

I'm sure there are many answers but I'd use BartPE to edit the boot.ini. Set
the partition to "active" with PM before you start.
