Hi

Boot your PC with the XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'. When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes. Where X is the letter of your CD drive and C is the letter of your system drive. Take the XP CD out of the cd drive and reboot into XP normally.

Thank you, I reinstalled XP and I was able to boot, I
have noticed that my previous programs are now not
installed. Example, all of my Office XP programs .exe
files are in their respective locations in the program
files folder on the c drive. Yet when I attempt to open
excel, word, etc. they prompt me to install them for the
current user. I no longer have the office xp disc, am i
am stuck????? Thank you for your help
