NTLDR is missing after running Norton Ghost???

I imaged my system a few months ago just incase of an emergency. This
week I had an emergency so I attempted a restore from the 7 ghost
disks (DVD+R's) that norton ghost created for me during the imaging of
my system. At about 97% complete on the restore, norton ghosts asked
me for an 8th disk which there was only 7 disks...very wierd so I had
to cancel the restore. Now when I boot up I get the dreaded NTLDR is
missing message. I've performed an FDISK & chose the correct partition
as active but...still get same message. So....I created a norton ghost
boot wizard disk PC-DOS version & ran ghost again. NOW...the restore
gets to the 1st or 2nd disk & norton ghost tells me that the files on
the disk are corrupted which can't be so...any suggestions on what I
should try next guys? Thanks in advance.

Burning a disk 'image' file to CD or DVD can be a problem because the file is
compressed and may not be correctly written onto the CD.

If you need to recover from a small problem, try system restore.

If it is more serious then use Repair Installation.

If you have a total disaster....kiss everything goodbye.

To get a good 'image' file, partition your hard drive and ghost to the
second partition or another drive..they are cheap enough today. Then if you
must copy the image file to CD or DVD.

To perform a Repair Installation of XP:

1.Do Not BOOT into Windows XP on first boot after Motherboard or Hard Drive
change! If booting from CD is not an option, return to BIOS and make sure
booting from CD is the first boot option. Booting into Windows is only an
option when you do a direct replacement of the Motherboard.
2.If your computer does not support booting from the CD, check your OEM or
Motherboard makers web site for updated BIOS.
3.Perform a Repair Install by following the step by step below.
When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below
This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
Press Enter to start the Windows Setup.
Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows
installations.
Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to
start the repair.
Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not
press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue
as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will
remain intact.
