Microsoft state that the recommended minimum volume size for NTFS is
approximately 10 MB. Whilst the recommended practical maximum for volumes
is 2 TB (terabytes). However much larger sizes are possible in practise.

8 GB as the low end for using NTFS, and 16 as the point above which it
is advisable, in between it is a matter of circumstances and taste
