NTBACKUP

I Bought a Sony Computer with XP Home and many programs.
It did not include XP backup. I tried add new components
and there is no "backup" listed to add. So I bought XP
Pro. I tried to load it on top of XP Home. It would not
do it. And then computer would not boot. Had to format
drive again and reload Sony complete recovery with Home
and other programs. I tried to install components with XP
Pro. It pulled up the same list to pick from. No "backup"
to choose from. I can see that NtBackup is on the Pro
disk. How do I get it installed onto my XP Home that I'm
running. Do not want to install all of XP Pro alone as I
would lose all of the programs that came with computer.

If you can find/borrow a regular - not OEM - Home CD you will find it on
that, in Valueadd\Msoft\Backup - (I think but explore in Valueadd).
R-click the NTBackup.msi file and take Install. I would not put in too
much effort - it is a rather limited program and AFAIK is only provided
as a means for former users of NT to bring forward their old backups.
which is why it is in Pro only, as a standard install.

Thanks for your help Alex. I did get a copy of the

XpHome Ntbackup. But it does not include the "system
recovery disk creation" that the Pro will do. I would
like to get it off the Pro disk that I paid for. It's
there as "NTBACKUP.EX_," but I cannot open that
extension. Thanks to anybody that can help

NTBackup on Home does not support that Auto System Recovery feature.
