NTBackup with DLT tapes not working

I'm using a Quantum DLT VS80 tape drive on Windows 2000
Server SP4. When I try to create new media in ntbackup, I
select "DLT", but it says: media pool identifier does not
represent a valid media pool." The tape drive shows up in
device manager. How do I get it to recognize the media?

Thanks....
 
If you go into the Removeable Storage Manager console, can you see the drive
and the media in it? Can you prepare the tape?
