NTBackup - adding an "excluded file" doesn't work.

The NTBackup's "exlude files" option works in XP, but not
in w2k?!?!? The problem is when I add "C:\*.nrg" to the
exclude list (with the "applies to all subfolders" ckbox
cked), it doesn't work - it still backups nrg files?!?
Also, in xp, when adding an excluded file type,
the, "Applies to path:", will accept just "\"; in w2k, it
insists on at least "C:\". The help does say, "Type a
path in Applies to path if you want to restrict the
excluded file type to a specific folder or hard disk
drive, and then click OK." I.E. the implication is that
one doesn't have to include a drive path (what is not
mentioned, is that at least a "\" is needed - stupid
pgm!). In w2k this is not allowed and gives an error
msg, "The path name entered is not valid." So, in w2k,
if I have 3 partitions (i.e. C:, D:, & E:), I have to add
3 entries, one for each drive - but it doesn't really
matter, since it doesn't work anyway.

I've learned two things since I posted the original question - 1st, one must create the "excluded files" mask before setting up the scheduled backup (which is a little confusing, since the "excluded files" option is at the top level of the Backup pgm, rather than part of each individual backup script - it just keeps those files from being "cked"); 2nd, I still cannot create a file mask (i.e. \*.xyz) that applies to all partitions.
