NT4 w/s user cannot access w2k adv

I have a user with NT4 w/s who can't get access to a share on a windows 2k
advanced server (sp & hotfixes up to date).
The share has the same perms as a previous version on a NT4 server.

Would there be any reason, like lack of service pack/hotfix for this to
happen?

The share is locked down to admins, system and one named group who have
modify level control. As I said above, this worked fine on the NT4 share

Can you ping? by name? by address? Map by address?

If you can't ping by address then there may be a router in between or some
malfunctioning hardware. You'll need to get this resolved before proceeding.

fixed. under WINS, the use to resolve wasn't on. Server is new to the
network, so for some reason, NT4 wasn't resolving.

anyway, thanks for the advice
