NT services

for some of NT services on our W2k and 2003 servers,
options to start, stop, pause or restart are unavailable,
other words they are grayed out, why?

Are the startup options for these services set to 'disabled'?

No they are started... i just cannot modify anything...
because start/stop/pause/restart are grayed out... I can
click on properties any change start up type or account
that starts it but cannot use any of options
(start/stop/etc..)

any idea?
