NT On-Access Scanner Service Error Message

My PC usese XP Pro. For some time now, whenever I boot up, I get the
message: "NT On-Access Scanner Service has encountered a problem and needs
to close."

As far as I know, except for getting this annoying message each day, my PC
isn't experiencing any problems.

How do I correct this situation?
