You may remember me posting this message recently (see below)
I did a more detailed virus search and found two viruses on the C
drive. After I had deleted them I had no more problems in starting the
computer each day.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Regards Brian

Everyday when I first turn on my computer instead of getting the main
screen with icons I get a blank screen. I then have to boot up in the
safe mode and go back one day to a precious restore point.

If I turn my computer off for a few hours then turn it back on it boot
up with no problems. If I boot up my computer the next day I have this
problem.

I've checked my hard drive for viruses and have reinstalled Windows XP
(with a new registry).

It might be helpful for us fortunates if you can tell us how you think you
missed the viruses with the earlier scans.

Hi Edward,
in answer to your question. The first scan I did
for viruses was a fast scan that looks for common viruses. I choose
this first as it is quicker when scanning a large hard drive.
My second scan was a file scan which scans selected files for all
viruses which picked up two viruses on the C drive.
There is another virus scan called a Deep scan which scans everything
with maximum strength.
If your wondering what program I used...it's called SystemSuite and
does more than just virus scans.

Regards Brian
