Notification of new messages after Rules applied

I have several rules that move messages (mostly SPAM filters) when
they arrive in my INBOX.

I woul like to find a way for outlook to only notify me that I have
new mail ONLY if the message has not been moved by one of the rules. I
do not want the task bar ballon or the ding dong sond to play if the
message fits a rule has been applied.

Any suggestions on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated.

version of outlook? older versions definitely always dinged when rules moved
messages and it could not be disabled. You can turn off all notifications
and create a final rule that applies to all mail and notifies you.

Yes, the real question is how do you create a rule that says "Play a
sound" ONLY if none of the other rules apply?

So if the message stays in the INBOX after all rules are applied, then
notify me.

Easy. Just make a rule that doesn't have any conditions, who only action is
to play a sound, and put it last in the rules list.

The same thing happens to me occassionally. I have about 9 different email
accounts and it is always the same two that do this. I have learned to deal
with it. Seems after about 10 minutes or so it stops asking for the
password. I never found an answer also.
