Notification Icons

When I first login to my system after a reboot, some of the icons in
the notification area do not show up and the "Show Hidden Icons" does
not appear at all, not even for days.

If I logout and login, the notification icons are there and work
properly, they will continue to do so until I reboot the system.

Any ideas?

Appreciate the link, seems to be an inconclusive problem/resolution. I'll
give these a try, too bad it isn't somehting simple...
