Notification Area - "Local Area Connection"

S

I keep getting an extra "Local Area Connection" icon in
the notification area tray that is X'd out and says "a
network cable is unplugged". My main broadband icon is
there also and functions as it should. I have tried
to "always hide" the icon, but it comes back when I re-
log on.
Any ideas how to either delete or permanently hide it?

Thank you.

Go to the Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, the click Network
Connections and there you can select and disable the one that is not plugged
in.
