When my XP Home starts up, many of the icons that used to be in the notification area (system tray) are now missing. I've turned off hiding of inactive icons and they're still not showing up. What's strange is that each time I start up the system, different icons are missing. These are all current version applications claiming compliance with WinXP
To make matters worse, when I check if those "missing" applications are running (like iPod Manager, Norton AntiVirus or Windows Messenger), they ARE in the process list in Windows Task Manager. Some of these applications can't be accessed any other way when they're set to run in background
Where have my icons gone? How can I get them gack
