notes on laptop screen while playing slides thru projector

I want to keep my notes on my presentation visible on my laptop screen while
my slideshow is being presented through a projector. Can this be done? If so
how do I set it up please anyone!

After you've connected to the projector go to Slide Show > Set up Show. Check
off Show Presenter View.

I'm using 2003 and have already set up my "Show Presenter View", but I don't
see any notes in the notes area. What's up?
