notes and power point templates

My company has gone through a rebranding exercise which means I have to apply
a new template to all existing powerpoint presentations (15). This template
also includes a special layout for the notes pages which needs to be applied
to all the existing presentations.

When I apply the new template (slide design, browse and choose the new
template), the notes master is not included. The new slide template is there.

This is Power Point 2003.

I have also found that when I am viewing the presentation in notes view in
two of my old presentations, the background page size is different - this can
be seen on the ruler (by about 1 cm on each side). How can I change this?
When I go to page setup that simply changes the slide size and has no effect
on the notes page size.
By the way, both pages sizes are set to A4.

And I can't send these to word to adjust.

Thanks,
M

MB,
I would go about this the other way. Instead of opening the existing
presentations and applying the template, open a new presentation that uses
the template and then use Insert--> Slides from file to pull in the old
presentation content and notes. In this case, make sure that "Keep source
formatting" is not checked.

As for the page size difference: Yeah, it does that. PPT 2000 had a
different definition for centimeter than 2002 and later does. While there is
no easy way around this, doing the insert slides from file mentioned above
should help.

I honestly haven't tried that approach (yet) but I will be very surprised if
it works because my similar issue is that I have created a new custom design
template and made adjustments to the Notes Master but whenever I create a new
presentation in my design template, the Notes Master is not included!

If I view the Notes Master, it looks like my modified version. But when I
print (the only time it really matters!), it prints in the standard Notes
Pages style.

Oh, but do be sure to try Kathy's trick first -- you never know, you just
might be surprised after all.

You may need to reapply the notes master to your slides.

See Reapply the Notes Master to each Notes Page in a presentation
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00760.htm

Otherwise, you'll have to do it manually, slide by slide. So try that code
on a copy of your presentation and see if it helps.
