Wordpad has disappeared from the location in the shortcut. I found the
compressed wordpad.ex_ file in Windows\i386.

How do I reactivate so there is a wordpad.exe file that can be the target of
the shortcut?

Go to the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows files, Accessories.

If WordPad is already checked, remove it and then reinstall it.

To expand the compressed workpad.exe file just click on start, Help and
Support, and in the Search box enter "expand" and follow the directions.
