notepad won't run via association

Notepad is associated to .txt files but will not open when a .txt file
is clicked on in windows explorer or from anywhere else, even as an
attachment.

It is like the association is not even there. I know that it is.

I can even do Open AS and select notepad and it will not do a thing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure how many poeple had this problem.
But I think some people are having same kind of problem.

I think "notepad.exe" was deleted from "c:\windows\system32"

Copy "notepad.exe" from "c:\windows" to "c:\windows\system32"
then your problem should be gone.

Wow, thanks a bunch.

There was a 3k file called notepad.exe. I replaced it with the 64k
notepad.exe from c:\windows and all works well.
