Notepad virus?

I cannot run my notepad or any files I have earlier
created on notepad because Norton Antivirus says it
detected a virus and removed it. However, it happens
every single time I try to run notepad. My norton is up
to date. I have run scans to no avail. Any ideas?

Seems to me this is a question for Symantec technical support.

There have been several worms that copy themselves to the \Windows folder as
Notepad.exe, overwriting the original file. Your variant may be doing this
continuously, which sets off your antivirus detector every time you invoke
Notepad.
