Notepad corrupted

Running win xp home. While searching internet, malware was unwillingly loaded onto my system - "pup.exe" and "over.exe" which hijacked my homepage to ramgo.com and installed unwanted links to my IE favorites and desktop.

I noticed that Notepad was modified at the same time the malware appeared. I ran Ad-aware and Spybot, deleted what I could of the malware and unwanted links to recycle bin, emptied it, and rebooted the computer. Then when I tried to open Notepad in the accessories, it reinstalled the malware and links again. Everytime I try to run Notepad this happens, and it appears to be corrupted.

**Again, I've already updated AdAware and Spybot and ran both. I also ran a live Panda scan. They did not catch this problem, nor did they fix Notepad. Also, my system restore was off, so I can't go back to earlier setting.**

Any suggestions on how to fix Notepad (or download a clean version of it) and completely delete these hidden malware binders? They also seem to be taking up some space on my C: drive and compromising the browser speed.

Thank you-
