Notebook Computer settings when plugged in and On Battery

There are 4 settings for when plugged in and 4 settings for when on battery.
Can someone tell me the most advantageous to be on for each. Now they are
on nothing. I would say if I walk away for 15 min something should happen
shouldn't it?
When Puter is Plugged In
1. Turn off monitor
2. Turn off hard drive
3. System Standby
4. System hibernates

When Puter is on battery
1. Turn off monitor
2. Turn off hard drive
3. System Standby
4. System hibernates

Right now they are all on NEVER
If I do change the settings and comeback to the computer do I just push the
power setting for a few secs?

NOTE: It says "indicates 2 revision levels are incompatible" when I look
after any changes are made.

My laptop has these settings:
When Puter is Plugged In
1. Turn off monitor: Never
2. Turn off hard drive: Never
3. System Standby: Never
4. System hibernates: Never

When Puter is on battery
1. Turn off monitor: 5 minutes
2. Turn off hard drive: 3 minutes
3. System Standby: 10 minutes
4. System hibernates: 30 minutes

Read your laptop manual for the answer to your second question.
