not sure how to resolve this issue on my computer

I went to download a program in excel yesterday and I think i was being
impatience and i hit another button and it didn't finish downloading, now i
can't get rid of the pop up not matter what i do it just beeps. It's like is
was trying to connect to the internet saying 0% i try to click the X on the
top right hand nothing i try to hit cancel nothing download to is blank. it
is really hard to explain if anyone can help me i will be more than happy to
make of copy of my screen and send it to you so that you can see what it
looks like. It also has the Internet explorer logo on it. I need some help
please.

Something you can check:

Goto Control Panel > Add remove Programmes

Check the list for the orphan programme and see if its there. Press remove
programme if it is.

Note! This is not a tested reponse and obviously, the responsibility must
remain yours for any error in removing the wrong programme so be careful.
