Not Responding

When I try to open I receive the following message, "Microsoft Excel (Not
Responding) This flashes only for a couple of seconds and then goes away.
Have similar issue when opening Outlook.

Are you accessing resources on a slow network perhaps?

Thanks for responding Bob. No, this is happening on my home laptop. Using
Vista Ultimate on an HP Pavilion DV6000. It would be very appreciated if you
could solve.

Can't say about the Vista part of it, never had that combo. Is there a
local printer? If not, try setting the Default printer to MS Document
Image Writer.
