Not receiving e mails

I can send emails but I cannot receive emails in Windows Mail,from my server
who is tiscali.co.uk every thing was o.k but suddenly it stopped working
properly.
 
What happens when you send an email to yourself?
Do you get an error message when you try to receive? If so, right-click
on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Gary I have sent a email to myself but what happens is that it does not
return to me at Windows Mail but if I click on to Tiscali and go to my mail
the email is there. Thanks
 
Hi Jane I have sent a answer to Gary if you read this you can see that I can
receive emails at Tiscali Mail but for some reason or another it will not
send it to Windows Mail
 
In Windows Mail go to Tools, Accounts, select that Tiscali account,
click Properties. On the General tab make sure that "Include this
account when receiving mail..." is checked. Also go to the Servers
tab and verify that the information there is correct.
 
Hi Gary been into accounts and "include this account when receiving mail" is
checked. Also been into tiscali setting and all seem to o.k. any more advice
 
If all your settings are correct, then about the only other thing that can
interfere with email is your antivirus. Which antivirus are you running?
Some of them are not fully compatible with Windows Mail.
 
Gary Iam using AVG the free version but I have been using this for months
without a problem do you think I should delete this and try to see if Windows
Mail receives emails then.
 
Chances are, your AVG antivirus was installed with its default install option.
If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then
allows you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module.

While AVG is uninstalled, try Windows Mail again, just to verify that
the culprit has been found.
 
Hi Gary thanks for all your help, but everything is fine now. What I did
before deleting A.V.G. I sent a email to tiscali describing my problem, they
told me by email on Windows Mail which, there message got through o.k, to
delete Tiscali and set it up again by the way I have done this time after
time since I have been in contact with you Any way, I set it all up again and
when I got to the end where it said click to finish which I did another box
came up asking for my email address and password so I put the one in that I
use to access the one one Tiscali website and it as worked. I can't
understand this as I have done this before and it did not work. Thanks again
for all you time trying to solve the problem and I hope anyone reading this
does what I have done.
 
Since that mail account got corrupted once, it may do so again, until
such time as you uninstall & reinstall AVG per my suggestion.
