Not having internet connection after resuming from sleep suddenly?

Don

Hey gang,

For some reason, all of a sudden, when I wake my system after sleeping it, I
do not have an internet connection. The connection icon in my systray, says
" local connection only". I have to either, reboot, or go into the network
connection and click on " diagnose and repair ". Once it does the repair, I
then see my status as " Local and Internet". I am running Vista Ultimate 64
bit, and have cable model run with a router. Nothing has changed with that
setup for some time.

I have changed nothing in my system this week, that I am aware of,
especially with regards to my network connection, only updates I have done
is whatever Vista 64 bit update came out this week.

Anyone have any ideas on why it has started doing this?

Thanks for any help here,

In Device Manager, properties for the NIC, power management tab, is "allow
the computer to turn this device off to save power" selected? If so, try
removing the checkmark.

Thanks Patrick.
I think I got it. I was looking under properties for my Nforce networking
controller, and that was not checked, and remembered I had recently gone
through there and unchecked it.
I checked it again, and slept the system, this morning upon waking it had
the internet connection Hopefully that was it.

Thanks again,
