Not connecting to the net?

This week I have had quite a number of people with this problem [6],

Cannot connect to the Internet? 3 with BT, 3 with Virgin. So the old grey cells had to work over-time

I found by uninstalling AVG7.4/8.0 Etc: the problem was solved.

Have looked for another solution but to no avail.

Anyone else had a problem with AVG here? with AVAST/ ALL SQUARE no problems?

Seems that the new AVG 8 is a bit buggy reading their forums - just get them to put AntiVir on as its better anyway

Thanks Ady I have put AVAST on for them no problems YET

it usually is a change in the firewall setting that makes all these negative sideeffects appear, especially if you have a new anti-virus/firewall/malware killer software in your system. just double check on the settings, deny what needs to denied and allow programs that needs access to the internet. hope that helps.
