Not booting up at all

My system doesnt start up.
I was told to run a recovery disc.
That i done.
The shop i got it from gave me 2 discs to run.
Then i was told to call infinity.
They told me that i should have only used one.
What will i do.
Is there any way to get this fixed.

And didn't Infinity technical support have the decency to tell you which
disk you should have used?

If they are 'recovery' disks then the whole point is for these disks to
reinstall the operating system. they are usually labelled 1, 2, 3 etc (i
have 3 with my e-machine). All that is usually required is for you to start
your PC, insert recovery disk 1 into the CD-ROM and then reboot your PC. At
this stage the recovery installation program should kick in and either
install Windows or give you an option to start the Install. It certainly
isn't a complicated procedure.

I would check that you have all the recovery disks necessary by asking the
store you purchased your pc from. They could have, at least, been a bit more
helpful than they actually have been.

You say that it is not booting up at all. Question is, what is happenning?
Is it doing anything? When you switch the pc on does the hard drive whirl
and does the hard drive light flicker? Is the sysetm simply dead - in other
words you switch it on and nothing happens, no fans going round, just
nothing?

So long as you have the correct recovery disks (and assuming the operating
system is on the CD and you don't have it hidden on a partiton on yuor hard
drive that you inadvertantly formatted or destroyed the data) re-installing
should bring the system back. Assuming, of course, the PC has power and your
problem isn't due to the hardware rather than the software. you haven't
really provided enough information on that for anyone to give an opinion.
