Not allowing to login into domain controller

Kamesh Akella

We are not able to login to One of my server with user
name as Administrator (even tried to login locally on
box). This is a Windows 2000 Advanced server which is
outside the corpnet. Rebooted the server but it also
doesn't help. When we enter the password it just says
that "Loading your personal settings...Saving your
settings." After these messages it again comes back to
Ctrl+Alt+Delete Screen.(Disconnecting in case of TS).

this server is a Domain Controller and we are able to
able to Map its drives to member computer with
Administrator user name. If we can find out the way to
create one user on that using Active Directory remotely
(as we still have Administrator password). We have
already increased the log files size from 512KB to around
2MB. Also there is enough space available on C drive on
which the OS resides.

Would appreciate if you can provide some solution to this
problem.

Thanks..Kamesh

Kamesh,

If you have more than one domain controller, you can connect to the
computer management snap in on the machine that is troubling you and
*attempt* to create another computer account.

So find a machine in the domain - log in as admin, then run the
compmgmt.msc snap in and then choose "Connect to another computer".
From within there you should be able to then add another user.

Try logging in with the new user you create. If it still hangs then
perhaps something is wrong with the Default User or the Administrator
Profile.
