Not all button links work in IE 6

Hi,

A few websites I visit have button links that do not work, for instance
EBAY. Some buttons work but not all, specifically when I am trying to edit
my ebay information. Nothing happens when I click the buttons, the IE flag
does not animate.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

It might be important to note that I also have FireFox installed and it also
does not work on the same links, after about a minute I get a timed out
error (with firefox only)

Thanks

Hi,
Which version of Windows? Regardless of the OS, I would be looking at your
firewall or other security programs. The configuration may be too
restrictive.

Also- might help- can't hurt... delete the Temporary Internet Files folder
and the History folder. See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Hope this helps,

Hi,

I use XP home. I have Norton Security and Sygate firewall. I have tried
turning them off and it makes no difference. What exactly would make a
button behave differently then a link?

Thanks

Hi,
The buttons involve javascript, so there's a little more that can go wrong
than with a regular hyperlink. That's why I suggested that you look at
security programs and settings. The fact that both browsers are affected
also hints at that.

But, try this:
Go to Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, set it to Default.

You might put Ebay in Trusted Sites. From Internet Options>
Security> Trusted Sites> Sites> uncheck "Require server verification
(https:) for all sites" then add (for example) " *.ebay.com " (without the
quotes) to this zone.

Try these two commands from Start> Run
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

Then, you might try a refresh of the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download.
