Not able to do a "save as" in Office XP

Not able to do a "save As" in Excel or Word in XP Small Business eddition.
Can do a "Save" but when attempting to do a "Save As" the program hangs and
a "program not responding" message appears. Other applications seem ok.
Recently reinstalled Windows XP Home Eddition as well as all applications.
Please advise.
