Not able to access internet via adsl

I have recently set up ADSL connection.I am using US Robotics 9108 ADSL
gateway.It was working fine for few days and I was able to acccess
internet.However now My gateway shows connected to internet,still I am
unable to access any webpage or any internet content.I tried various
trouble shooting methods.When I tried to ping yahoo.com it doesnt
respond and shows error message -timed out.I am able to ping my
gateway(192.168.1.1)And I am able to ping my IP address(192.168.1.2)Pls
can anyone help me resolve this?I am using winXP.

It may be the DNS issue. Can you ping 4.2.2.1? If yes, use nslookup to check the DNS status. This step by step troubleshooting may help too,
