Not a problem but curious about Edit with FP button

This is not a problem, but I'm curious as to why sometimes EDIT with FP (in IE6 toolbar) sometimes is not there...like there is a way to prohibit EDIT from certain sites? Is that possible?

I'd noticed it recently when checking someone on this ng's problem site (can't remember which one but it was in the last day or so). Once I went off that site to another the Edit button was not grayed out. Curious.

Curious George

Supposedly clearing the browsers cache files will restore it. Or so I've heard.
Don't ask me why because I don't have a clue. ( which is quite normal for me )
;-)

Yes, this can be disabled on Windows IIS servers, not sure about others.

It is a configuration in IIS...can't remember, exactly, but I've read the
article before. Has to do with cache settings on the server. Will check it
some more.

I don't understand it. That's about expiring content. How would that disable the Edit with FP button?

Mere curiousity has now turned to; "need to know" :-)

Just does. Because the content is not there anymore.

Try Google or the MS KB and research it more. Or, search for past posts in
the FP NG.
