I recently upgraded my laptop with Win-XP Professional CD with service
pak-2. I've tried several times to load Norton Anti virus from its CD
and I end up getting the following error.

"The update process was unable to complete". "The update process was
unable to complete successfully please check details for more information".

"Windows XP 5.1 Service Pack 2 NAVNT 9.06 could not find installation
path for at least one component.

Well, in my opinion, you're in luck. Norton is a huge resource hog, and
adds so many services that it's is almost funny. Try Avast, free edition, or
AVG free edition. If you like them you can purchase the fully licensed
version.
ON the other hand, if you are set on Norton, try installing it in safe mode.
Safe mode runs with just the minimal drivers needed so installs are less
compromised.

I tried the "Safe Mode" method, but Norton said it wouldn't install from
the "Safe Mode", so I'll try something else.
