Norton - Upgrade to 2004 vs Extend Subscription

M

Mindspring

I currently run Norton 2003 and with the "subscription" expiring in a few
days.

The new "2004" antivirus product will be releaed in October. The fine print
for the 2003 product says the support for it will end six months after the
new product is released.

Why would one purchase a 12 month "subscription" for 2003 instead of
purchasing the product upgrade 2004?

The last time I upgraded I installed the product a few weeks ahead of time
and the new install did not recognize the anniversary and shorted me the
last 3 weeks of the original paid product. Has this changed, does anyone
know?

Thanks.

I can`t compare my AV: F-prot for windows to Norton but I have been
extremely pleased with it for the past 15 months.
I can say I`ve never had a problem with updates!
Cost $34/year and they have been providing updates several times a week.
It scans my email and hasn`t missed a Klez or Swen or any of the others.

They also have a DOS version that`s free for personal use. It will run
under windows.

I don`t work for F-prot!
