Norton Security Help

I have a friend who has Norton Internet Security 2005. He blocked
something (doesn't remember what) and now Internet Explorer cannot
access the internet. How can he resolve this? As he reads the
categories to me over the telephone there doesn't seem to be any choice
to change whatever he did. Thanks

If they haven't done any custom rules, the easiest way would be to go in the
Personal Firewall, Config, Programs tab. Highlight all of the rules and
remove them. Then do a Program Scan to create all new rules. Then go thru
and uncheck anything they don't want to have access.

Open Norton IS 05.
Goto "Internet Security" tab
Personal firewall
Turn Off

Norton will ask you a question->Reply "Permanently"

Make sure your friends have Intrusion protection ON

Great advise telling him to turn off his firewall. But what do you expect
from a Norton basher?

Funny, I don't think that was his original question. Just couldn't turn
down a chance to bash, could you?
