Hi,
I am running Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2002 and did an update last
Friday night - it downloaded and installed a 'redirector'.
Prior to that my web browsing was working fine but, since the update, I have
been unable to browse the web if I have NIS enabled. Also, disabling and
re-enabling NIS via the System Tray icon is slow.
I have had a couple of suggestions - disabling 'Enable third-party browser
extensions' in IE and also deleting and letting NIS recreate my IE rules in
NIS - but neither of these has worked.
A friend who downloaded the same install now has his Win XP system
constantly rebooting for no reason (No, he does not have a virus and his
system was very stable up until he got the new redirector.)
Any ideas anyone,
Thanks,
J.
(BTW, I am running a fully patched Win XP Pro system with IE 6 SP2 fully
patched also.)
