NIS 2006 - Norton Protection Center

NPC runs as a service along with the 'main' NIS services. Would disabling
the Norton Protection Center have any detrimental effect on NIS itself? NPC
only seems to show users the current security status of their systems.

It should not cause you any issues, but it will identify possible issues
that you may miss. Why not just deselect the items you do not want it to
report on?
