Norton GoBack 4.0 Problem

D

Darkwing

I downloaded and installed Norton GoBack 4.0 today. When I restarted my
laptop, it went to a screen that says "No Bootable CD in Atapi CD ROM".
I never get to the splash screen. When I disable GoBack, I can boot to
WindowsXP with no problem. How can I correct this problem so that I can
use GoBack? Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Disabling and uninstalling GoBack is not the
problem though. The problem is being able to boot while GoBack is
installed. I don't know if it is an XP2 problem or what. I want to be
able to use GoBack.

My first advice is not to look for help on Norton products here. You're
more likely to get a bunch of crap from the Norton bashers here. I'd
suggest moving it over to one of the Symantec newsgroups.

Norton GoBack is not compatible with many OEM recovery solutions that use
non-standard boot sectors and hidden partitions. You should contact Norton
to see if it is compatible with your laptop.

Maybe you should figure out how to set your clock before you post.

System Restore only restores the system. GoBack restores EVERYTHING. And
can even recover previous editions of files. GoBack is far superior to
System Restore. It's my first step when something goes wrong. I have
backup images on a USB external drive when that fails which so far has been
never.
