Since WinXp came with "system restore preinstalled,
is it necessary to install "norton goback" ?
I understand that both utilities perform same function.
They are very different. Restore simput puts back system settings to a
specific date; things that keep the computer running.
GoBack however reverts everything, so if you picked up a virus or it
seems like your system has been hosed, etc., you can actually put everything
back to the way it was on a date when the problems didn't exist.
I don't notice any speed problems with it as others mention now and then
(2.6 GHz P4 system). If you're short on hard drive space, GB does require
about ten percent of your hard drive by default, but you can set it to a
lower number if you're OK with fewer dates to go back to.
Personally, I try the Restore first, and if that doesn't work I then use
GoBack, most of the time. If you have it, I'd recommend installing it.
