Norton ghost automatic

Hi,
I have Norton Ghost 2003 version.

often I need to restore my PC with a ghost image on a CD..
i'd like do it by a batch file after a cd boot.

The problem is that i don't know the sintax.
I think it's the same by using the norton gui interface that reboot the
pc in pcdos and do the restore.

Is there a way to see the explicit parameters that ghost.exe run with
by using the gui interface?

tnx.

p.s. i know my english isn't so good ;-)

While we've used the Norton Ghost 2003 program extensively over the years we
long ago gave up using that program for backup-restore functions using their
disk imaging process. For a number of reasons we found the process awkward
to use and too often ineffective. So I won't respond specifically to your
query.

By & large we have found the Ghost 2003 program quite effective in creating
disk-to-disk clones particularly using the Ghost 2003 bootable floppy disk
that one can easily create from the program. In our experience the Ghost
2003 disk cloning process has proven very reliable. It is simple to use and
it does its job.

Obviously to use the disk cloning process the user needs another hard
drive - either internal or external - for the recipient of the clone. If
you're interested in undertaking this process, so indicate and I'll post
step-by-step instructions for using Ghost in this fashion.

Asna:

I'm a Norton 9.0 user. Usually software designed with GUI interface in mind
is difficult to use in "batch file" mode.

What I do is in addition to backing up via Ghost 9.0, I make copies via the
DOS xcopy command, of the entire "MyDocuments", PLUS other data that may not
reside there, such as the data file for Quickbooks. The backups and copies
are made to a USB drive.

The whole idea is I have the choice of restoring via Nortons, or simply copy
"a file", a number of files.

For theory is if something goes wrong, if its the software, I'll re-install
from the original media, and if its data, I'll COPY the file back in.

Go to the web site and get the documentation. I probably have the info but
the docs are too large to post here.
