Norton AV 2003

I have XP Pro SP2 installed with Norton Antivirus 2003
turned on and up to date, but the Security Center says the
status is unknown. Any suggestions

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Security Center
and click on: "Change the way Security Center alerts me".
Uncheck "Virus Protection" and click OK.

i have norton AV 2004 and I continually received the same message until i
checked the i have installed an AV and will monitor it on my own. i have
downloaded nortons free 3 month trial of it's AV and personal firewall, to
check out the firewall and have not received the message, but i might still
have the i'll monitor myself box checked and i am not on line with my
personal computer at this time
