None of my USB flash drives gets recognized

I have 2 USB drives and a digital camera.
None of them gets recognized once I plug them to a USB ports.

When I plug each, it is immediately found and I can see that by the little
message on the bottom right corner. But then its asking me to install it,
and when I tell it to search, its not finding any drives.

While either the flash drives or the camera is plugged in,
if I look at device manager, I can see that under
Other Devices it has a big yellow question mark.

I can uninstall that driver, but when I restart, same thing happens.

I am running windows XP sp2.

Any ideas?

I tried all of the thing recommended on link below,
its still not working.

I am wondering if I need to repair XP, and I dont have the CD
as my laptop had XP preinstalled when I got it...

If your system didn't come with an XP CD, it probably has a boot option
to reinstall to factory specs. But that will wipe the hard drive and
all your data. Better to buy XP and use it to do a repair install.
