Non uniform sound playback with ATI 9700 pro AIW.

Hi,

I have the MSI 865PE Neo2 FIS2R Board, and use an ATI 9700 pro AIW
Video Capture
Card. The sound volume level is not uniform on playback. It seems that
the recording sound level is not stable. When I run the ATI
configuration compatability test, I get the following message:

"Sound card clock stability
Checks the stability of the sound card.

Test result: Clock stability <+/- 0.2%

Explanation: The audio card clock synchronizes audio with video during
DVD playback and video capture. An unstable clock can degrade DVD
playback and cause problems with video capture.

Recommendation: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your audio
card.
If you still experience problems, try a different audio card."

Otherwise, the C-Media sound chip on the motherboard works great and
all other output is OK. I really do not want to install a new sound
card.

I have installed all the latest drivers from both MSI and ATI. Does
anyone have a solution to this problem?

Help is appreciated.

Thanks.....

Klass,

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I have the exact same problem with
my ATI 9000 AIW. I also have the MSI 865 PE.

See my earlier posts in this newsgroup. Video capture is useless with this
sound problem. This must be an issue with the chipset???
