Non-sticky Alt key?

Does anyone know of a registry hack or patch that disables the default
behavior of the Alt key, which is to stick on if pressed and released by
itself? I can see where this would be useful to the occasional one-handed
user, and indeed Accessibility Options lets you select this feature for
Shift and Ctrl. However, you can't turn it off for Alt, which I find
extremely irritating.
