Non-gaming video card

I can't tell anything about non-gaming performance from the video
stuff I have been reading. I am putting together a pretty decent AMD
based system. I don't play games, but I am going to do some
photo/graphics work and would like pretty good performance from that.
I will probably get a PCI-E system unless someone tells me that I
should get AGP. All the reviews I read talk about fast 3-D refresh
and such and I figure that is not important, but I don't know if the
same performance issues do matter to me. Anything I can read or any
card suggestions?

TIA.

I think the Matrox line is what you should look into if you're into the
3D modeling and workforce side of things, if I'm not mistaken by a lot
of reviewers. Even the Matroc line these days can chug games every so often.
