I've installed a Microsoft Broadband Wireless USB Adapter MN-510 onto
a desktop PC running MS Windows XP Home.
1) The adapter installs correctly and consistently connects to the MS
Broadband Wireless Base Station.
2) DHCP on the Base Station gets me a valid IP address, valid gateway
(the Base Station IP), valid DNS server (the Base Station IP), etc...
BUT
3) then I can't ping that gateway (timeout), see other computers in
the workgroup, or pass other IP traffic.
I've check packet filtering, and it's both disabled and set up to
pass everything if it was enabled anyway. Checking the network
adapter shows it is apparently installed correctly and working
properly. The IP config for the adapter is also correct (obtain IP
address automatically, obtain DNS address automatically, etc.).
I've got a Dell laptop with a MS Broadband Wireless Laptop Adapter
MN-520, running Windows ME and connecting to the same Base Station,
and it's working like a charm. No problem at all.
Any suggestions for how I can 'shoot this and get the XP Home PC also
working like a charm? I'm busy searching the f'ing web, but any help
or pointers greatly appreciated.
