No wireless

My wife has a Toshiba satellite laptop 2400, which is supposed to have
wireless accessibility. I have an Emachine also with wireless
capability. I just subscribed to highspeed through Bell Sympatico, I
also hooked up a D-Link 2.4g router. I had no trouble getting the
Emachine to work, in fact that is what I am using at the moment.

The Toshiba on the other hand is being more pigheaded. The Toshiba
does not seem to have a wireless connection, when I try to do a new
connection. Where should look for help?

The newer laptops, including the Toshiba, have a button or switch on the
case that must be turned on to enable wireless. Is the Toshiba's
wireless button/switch on?

How does what work? Enabling built-in wireless? Offhand, I'd say "refer
to the older laptop's manual". If you want a more specific answer,
please give me a more detailed question.

In the manual to begin with. I don't know the Toshiba but most machines have
either something like Function Ctrl-2 to toggle wireless on/off OR a switch
of some kind to do that. Make sure it is on to begin with.
