No Virus Protection

Hello,
I need help. I installed SP2 on Win XP Pro but while installing it I
mistakenly disabled the virus protection on the SP2.
How do I turn the virus protection from SP2 on, after the SP2 installation?
I want it on even though I have Norton Internet Security 2004 running, for
double protection and to get rid off the flag from red icon that pops up
every time I turn on the pc reminding me that I am "unprotected".

Thanks,
Leo.

Leo;
There is no AV as part of Windows XP or SP-2.
That icon is telling you something is wrong with Norton AV.
Norton AV 2004 (NIS) has the updates available so the Security Center
can monitor the status.
You need to perform Live Update on Norton, possibly several times, to
get the appropriate updates so Norton can be monitored.

There is no virus protection included with WinXP's SP2.

I would suggest running Live Update several times, and rebooting after each
episode.

From here: http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/sp2/faq.html

Installing Service Pack 2 will not affect Norton Personal Firewall or Norton
Internet Security. The Windows Security Center, which is a component of
Windows XP Service Pack 2, will be aware that you have Norton Personal
Firewall or Norton Internet Security installed, but it will not be able to
determine its working status due to Symantec's tamper-protection technology.

Symantec has released an update which adds compatibility to the Windows
Security Center so that it may report the status of your Symantec security
software. This update is included in Norton Personal Firewall 2005 or Norton
Internet Security 2005, and is available by LiveUpdate for Norton Personal
Firewall 2004 or Norton Internet Security 2004. The update will install on
Windows XP, but will not take effect unless you have the Windows Security
Center installed.
